Good to know

A few word-wise answers.

What if I have a blank tile?

Type a question mark (?) for each unknown letter. For example, TAR?ILE allows any letter in place of the blank.

Can I filter the beginning or end of a word?

Yes. Open “Refine your results” in either single-word mode, then enter letters in Starts with, Ends with or Contains. These filters don’t apply to phrase searches.

Will every result be accepted by my game?

Not necessarily. LetterKit uses the openly licensed SCOWL British English list, not an official game dictionary. Check your game’s own rules before playing a word.

Why do some familiar words not appear?

Spelling variants and specialist vocabulary differ between dictionaries. This list is British English; it isn’t a record of every possible English word. Read about our sources.
